University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach in the Master of Business Administration Program.  Specifically, we are looking for faculty to teach the following course: 

MBA 630: Leading in the Multicultural Global Environment:  Prerequisite: MBA 620. Enhance your cultural competence and evaluate opportunities and risks for operations in a global market. Expand your ability to apply ethical decision-making models. Assess issues of culture, business ethics, employment law, contracts, and criminal law in the context of a global business. Analyze political, legal, economic, and cultural forces that impact multinational businesses. Recommend the legal form and organizational structure of a business.

Required Education and Experience:

  • A J.D. or LLB from an accredited institution of higher learning, additional degrees in business from an accredited institution of higher learning preferred.
  • Professional business experience
  • Minimum technology requirements to teach at UMGC can be found and reviewed at under Faculty Resources
  • This position is specifically to teach in Waldorf, MD, College Park, MD, or Dorsey, MD

The Adjunct Faculty Role at UMGC

  • Actively engage students through frequent interaction and convey genuine energy and enthusiasm that motivates students to succeed.
  • Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilize rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and encourage and acknowledge student accomplishments.
  • Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program.
  • Work collaboratively with the MBA Program Chair on course management and content updates.

Faculty Training at UMGC

We are committed to your professional success at UMGC. Each new faculty member is required to successfully complete new faculty orientation and online course delivery training as a condition of hire.  Faculty teaching in hybrid sections of the course will also be required to complete an additional training course.
