University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks an experienced, innovative, servant leader as Portfolio Director, Nursing (PD) within the School of Integrative and Professional Studies and the Department of Applied Sciences. The PD supports the University's mission of transforming the lives of students by seeking to expand access to quality nursing education through new and innovative means. We seek a talented PD who is highly respected in the nursing industry and enthusiastic about addressing nursing workforce needs, shaping the future of learning and credentialing in the nursing profession, and expanding our nursing portfolio in new directions. The role involves engaging and building relationships with new and existing partners at community colleges, hospitals, and other healthcare settings, as well as leading and developing a team of educators.

UMGC is the largest online public university in the country enrolling some 90,000 students annually. As an open-access university, UMGC offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs, as well as certificates in more than 90 fully online, asynchronous programs and specializations. We have become one of the most dynamic and innovative institutions of higher learning with more than 180 locations in more than 20 countries, including active-duty military and veterans, around the world. Locally, we are known for our reputation as a Maryland state university making workforce-relevant education accessible and affordable to adult learners and other learners for whom a traditional post-secondary education is not an option. Our RN-to-BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and began accepting students in the Fall of 2013. We currently have more than 400 students in the program and have graduated more than 1100 nursing students since the program's inception. The RN-to-BSN program requires students to have already earned their RN and to hold an active unencumbered license prior to admission. The incumbent PD will be charged and challenged with the opportunity to develop a complete portfolio of nursing learning experiences that extend beyond the existing RN-to-BSN program.

Maryland, or multistate, licensure is required. Residency or relocation to the MD/DC/Northern Virginia metro area is strongly preferred. More specifically, this position is classified as "hybrid" and the work location is Adelphi, Maryland. You may primarily work from home; however, you will be required to report regularly to the office to engage in face-to-face collaborations or reviews with your student experience and support colleagues as well as executive leadership in Adelphi or other locations within the MD/DC/Northern Virginia metro area. You will also be expected to build relationships and partnerships with experts and organizations through face-to-face interactions at various events and opportunities.
