University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site in Germany in the Social Work program.

Part of the selection process includes providing official transcripts.
If your degrees were earned from an institution(s) outside the US: UMGC requires a 3rd party credit evaluation from a NACES approved vendor (http://www.naces.org/)
If an unofficial copy of the evaluation is submitted to UMGC, then the official evaluation would still be required.

The Adjunct Faculty Role at UMGC

Your role as an adjunct faculty member will be to:
Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed, and conveys a genuine energy and enthusiasm for their learning
Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations
Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work, and acknowledging student accomplishments
Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise, and help students connect concepts across their academic program
The Social Work Program at UMGC
The social work program is a CSWE accredited program offered by Salisbury University and administered by UMGC Europe. Faculty are approved by Salisbury University and hired by UMGC Europe. Faculty teach in both face-to-face and in an online environment using Canvas Learning Management System.

Faculty Training at UMGC
We are committed to your professional success at UMGC. Each new faculty member is required to successfully complete our online new faculty orientation, FacDev 412, as a condition of hire. Faculty receive mentoring from Salisbury full-time faculty to include a complete template with syllabus, online activities, readings, and assignments. In addition, faculty receive technical support and Canvas training from Salisbury University's Instructional Design and Development team.
