Student Account Operations Analyst

Office of Student Accounts

Full-Time, Regular, Exempt, Pay Grade 1.2

Location: Stateside Hybrid in Adelphi, MD

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks a Student Account Operations Analyst in the Office of Student Accounts. The Student Account Operations Analyst will work within a team and is responsible for a number of processes and tasks that all must be done on a daily basis in an extremely accurate manner on a very tight deadline.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Overall responsibility to include the coordination of work related to student account operations with a high attention to detail to include; Verifying, updating, tracking and reconciling records in manual and automated systems. Analysts will be responsible for a variety of specific tasks such as: Service Indicator Cleanup, Stop Payment Reissue, Statement of Account requests, 1098T inquiries, Payment Plans administration and reconciliation and Return of Tuition Assistance review and calculation.

Review and analyze student inquiries including conducting proactive outreach, troubleshooting issues, reaching out to necessary departments/vendors/agencies, and advise students regarding accounts via email, phone and face to face.

Provide comprehensive, timely, and high quality service to all internal and external customers and meet established departmental turnaround times and quality standards

Maintain current knowledge of federal policies/regulations and institutional policies pertaining to tuition assistance and identify ongoing improvements/automation.

Create computerized reports, merge & evaluate data from multiple sources, change award amounts, maintain statistical data and generate communications to students.

Perform other job related duties as assigned which includes participation in institutional events Open Houses and Holidays when the University is open.

Type of Experience

Two years of experience within higher education, customer service, administration or other related field.

Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or related field.
