Job location: Largo, MD

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks a Student Account Operations Analyst in the Office of Student Accounts. Reporting to the Supervisor, Student Accounts Operations, the Student Account Operations Analyst will work within a team and is responsible for a number of processes and tasks that all must be done on a daily basis in an extremely accurate manner on a very tight deadline.


  • Overall responsibility to include the coordination of work related to student account operations with a high attention to detail to include; Verifying, updating, tracking and reconciling records in manual and automated systems. Analysts will be responsible for a variety of specific tasks such as: Service Indicator Cleanup, Stop Payment Reissue, Statement of Account requests, 1098T inquiries, Payment Plans administration and reconciliation and Return of Tuition Assistance review and calculation.
  • Review and analyze student inquiries including conducting proactive outreach, troubleshooting issues, reaching out to necessary departments/vendors/agencies, and advise students regarding accounts via email, phone and face to face.
  • Provide comprehensive, timely, and high quality service to all internal and external customers and meet established departmental turnaround times and quality standards
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal policies/regulations and institutional policies pertaining to tuition assistance and identify ongoing improvements/automation.
  • Create computerized reports, merge & evaluate data from multiple sources, change award amounts, maintain statistical data and generate communications to students.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned which includes participation in institutional events Open Houses and Holidays when the University is open.


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or related field.
  • Two years of experience within higher education, customer service, administration or other related field.
