Exempt, Regular, 100% Full Time, Pay Grade 2.3

Job Location:  Remote PLUS 1/2 days per year in Adelphi, MD for meetings

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking a Student Communications Manager. Reporting to the Director of Student Communications in the Office of Student Affairs, this role will be responsible for student journey monitoring, management and oversight and development and execution of ad-hoc student communications. 

The role will contribute to the Student Communications department's goal of delivering a more holistic student-centric approach, driving UMGC community and student sense of belonging, and contributing to improved student success, retention, and enrollment. Deliver communications that drive a culture of care where success is celebrated, and we connect the right support services to the right students at the right time.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitoring Student Communications Journeys

  • Monitor success and progress of communication and data flow within student journeys

  • Proactively work to identify  and recommend opportunities to improve metrics and KPIs

  • Analyze data and work with technology teams to proactively solve any challenges that should arise

  • Revise journey flow or dynamic content as requested

  • Execute ad-hoc mass communications through email, SMS portal, classroom announcement, blog and outreach channels

  • Report KPI and enrollment impacts on regular basis to appropriate stakeholders

  • Understand data model, population segmentation and targeting

  • Work with business partners to understand business objectives and translate these objectives into communications that accomplish their business goals and provide value to our students.

  • Communications Management to include:
    •    Update or develop content for journeys and ad-hoc communications
    •    Ensure communications align with brand guidelines

  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions, conduct A/B testing and validation, organize and deploy minor configuration changes in automation platform. 

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning

  • Four (4) years minimum prior email marketing or CRM experience required

  • Experience working with cloud-based marketing automation required (Marketing Cloud experience preferred)

  • Understanding of population segmentation and targeting

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  Must be excellent using data to power marketing recommendations

  • Ability to analyze and prioritize multiple tasks and adapt to a changing and fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
