Application Developer

Location: Adelphi, Maryland

The Application Developer is highly technical lead position which is a key member responsible for developing solutions for various projects and support initiatives. This role focuses on supporting university partners and collaborating with Product Owners to deliver effective outcomes. This role requires a proactive mindset, technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous learning to ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understanding and analyzing problems to identify effective solutions.

  • Researching and proposing innovative approaches to address technical challenges.

  • Staying current with platform advancements and maintaining relevant certifications.

  • Apply knowledge of theory and principles of Computer Science to develop proprietary systems, customized for each client's needs.

  • Develop Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), build custom reports, calculated fields, and configure studio integrations using Workday web services.

  • Manage the test project plan, time tracking, defect management, issue resolution, and risk management.

  • Analyze and identify client business processes to locate gaps and ensure functionality of product.

  • Write functional specifications to provide a fully customized product, meeting each customer's requirements.

  • Create custom reports for specific purposes, such as Benefit Enrollment, New Hire, Job Change, and Time Tracking Report.

  • Analyze code, and program XSLT scripts for integrations to transform XML data.

  • Develop and code custom reports and calculated fields for specific purposes such as Core HR, Payroll and Benefits.

  • Develop custom security groups and integration security groups; assign users and integration systems.

  • Create custom reports, expose as web services for serval files.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience

  • Experience in higher education practices, technologies, and challenges

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

  • Development and implementation of Workday Financial Management and Human Capital Management Software

  • Custom integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Cloud Connect, Report Writer, and Calculated Fields

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Workday Studio, Birt reporting

  • Extensive experience in working with web services, XML and XSLT.

Hiring Range:

$155,000.00 - $170,104.00
