Summary:

The Cloud Administrator focuses on the day-to-day management and maintenance of a company's cloud infrastructure, ensuring its smooth operation by managing user access, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing resource allocation.  Cloud administrators focus on operational tasks like monitoring performance, managing user access, and troubleshooting issues, while cloud engineers focus on designing, developing, and deploying cloud infrastructure and applications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing cloud infrastructure: Overseeing the performance, security, and infrastructure of cloud systems 

  • Implementing cloud solutions: Ensuring that cloud solutions meet security and performance requirements 

  • Providing support: Troubleshooting and providing support for cloud systems 

  • Preventing downtime: Proactively preventing security breaches and potential downtime 

  • Staying informed: Keeping up with the latest cloud computing best practices and trends 

  • Configuring role-based administration: Defining the responsibilities and privileges of administrative users 

  • Establishing integrated monitoring: Setting up integrated monitoring and policy management 

  • Overseeing hybrid cloud deployments: Overseeing hybrid cloud deployments to balance security and compliance with on-demand access 

  • User management: Managing users, resources, calendars, and the Resource Tree 

  • Documenting systems infrastructure and standard operating procedures: Documenting systems infrastructure and operating procedures for the convenience of user

Skills:

  • Ability to support the monitoring of performance including SLAs and metrics

  • Ability to define processes, SOPs, and identifies effectiveness and efficiency improvements

  • Practical knowledge of agile development process 

  • Ability to think strategically 

  • Efficient communication and organizational skills 

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Proficiency with deployment tools such Ansible and Puppet.

  • Proficiency in methodical troubleshooting to provide resolution to incidents and problems.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Experience:

  • At least 5 years systems administrator experience with Windows and/or Linux environments including cloud administration  

  • 3 or more years hands on experience working in a cloud environment with multiple layers of networks and operating systems, including installation, configuration, patching    

  • 2 years experience in infrastructure complex distributed systems environments, including failover techniques, recovery/rollback, and application partitioning.

  • 3+ years working and collaborating with Quality Assurance and Operations teams

  • Experience with scripting languages (Ruby, Bash, Python, Javascript, or similar)

  • Familiarity with web servers including Apache and Tomcat, & nginx

  • Knowledge of Cloud Platforms (Hybrid Clouds, IAAS, PAAS and SAAS) with solid experience working in a cloud environment with multiple layers of networks and operating systems.

  • 2+ years experience with virtualization technologies.

  • 2+ years of experience with automation/orchestration tools and technologies (e.g. Puppet, Ansible).

  • Experience in Internet facing applications, security concerns, vulnerability assessment, and network protocols

  • Solid understanding of cloud technologies and services and various IT operations, often based on the ITIL Framework.

Preferred Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Certifications:

  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator

Hiring Range:

$96,000.00 - $106,400.00
