Summary:

The Principal Architect is a technical leader who works with integration engineers and platform specialists to drive efficiency and effectiveness of our growing Enterprise Integrations Team to help them thrive while ensuring best practices. The Principal Architect works closely with Product Owners and Platform Architects across platforms, taking business requirements and transforming them into technical specifications, to design and architect enterprise integrations between platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Architecting technical solutions for Enterprise Integrations including gathering requirements, refining requirements and developing technical specifications. 

• Developing integrations and customizations, including some complex design and development at a senior level. 

• Working with cross platform product owners and architects - CRM, HCM, Marketing Cloud, Website, ERP, LMS, SIS and data teams as SME on Integrations to co-develop integrations and Data Transformations. 

• Define and execute the end-to-end integration strategy using Mulesoft Anypoint Platform.

• Define best-in class practices to administer integrations platform and develop new integrations using patterns defined in the integration's strategy. 

• Coach and Mentor integrations team members and cross platform specialists to follow the enterprise integrations patterns in developing new integrations between platforms.  

• Architecting security, observability, logging and monitoring for integrations platforms to detect availability incidents, throughput and performance issues. 

• Coaching integration engineers to address tech debt, upgrades to improve performance of the platform and reduce consumption by optimizing the platform. 

• Work with Architects, System and technical data steward being consultant for business and cross platform technical members. 

• Working as a technical advisor and providing guidance to operations and production teams managing application, automation, and administration of Mulesoft integrations platform. 

• Lead the creation of API governance standards, including naming, versioning, lifecycle, and documentation.

• Manage Enterprise API Policies, Pipeline Automation, Unit Testing Framework, Client Applications, SLAs, and Direct Contract Enforcement via API Manager.

• Investigate and resolve software issues and defects reported, work with platform specialists to research problems and find and implement solutions. 

• Represent Enterprise Integrations in cross-platform new feature development, data architecture, design initiatives, incidents, problem management and solutioning.

• Develop best practices to ensure quality and security within the SDLC. 

• Work closely with IT staff to mentor, advise, and help build their knowledge in Mulesoft Integrations and patterns. 

• Work closely with Data & Integration Teams across different departments in designing, architecting and solutioning of an application using industry best practices and methodologies. 

• Mentoring techno-functional resources, managing their work allocation, prioritization, coordinating cross team prioritization along with the product owner as necessary. 

• Provide project leadership and delivery management as required or directed. 

• Organize, lead, and manage meetings involving management and key stakeholders. 

• Adapt organizational Secure SDLC to develop and deliver enterprise integrations and data transformation tools related to software development. 

• Work with cloud infrastructure, data management and data science teams to modernize the functionality. 

Skills:

• Solid knowledge and understanding of enterprise platforms and Integrations architecture in US higher education institutions or US based state, federal or non-profit organizations.  

• In-depth knowledge of API design (RAML), versioning, and lifecycle management.

• Solid knowledge of Azure integration fundamentals (Blob, Key Vault, App Service).

• Knowledge of distance, online and digital learning systems. 

• Excellent communication skills to develop technical documentation, presentation and articulate the artifacts to technical and business stakeholders. 

• Knowledge of functional aspects of student advising, financial aid, student financials, degree progress and faculty center. 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Ability to understand and solve complex techno-functional problems. 

• Ability to understand business processes and architect technical solutions. 

Education & Experience Requirements:

Experience:

• 7+ years on Mulesoft Anypoint Platform.  Any relevant education, prior certifications and/or work experience may be considered. 

• MuleSoft Platform Architect (MCPA) Certification and MCD Level 2 is required. 

• Specialized in MuleSoft deployment models, including CloudHub 2.0 and Flex Gateway, with hands-on experience in configuring, managing, and optimizing runtime environments across hybrid and cloud-native architectures is required.

• Proven hands-on experience of leading CloudHub 1.0 and 2.0 upgrades, performance deployments and setup, including configuration and management of Private Spaces for secure and scalable connectivity.

• Proven experience in CI/CD setup, MUnit test automation, and managing release pipelines.

• Strong work ethic, responsibility, and dedication. 

• Expert in Mulesoft Admin functions: creating Teams, Permissions, Dashboards, and Alerts.

• Proven experience in the full life cycle of developing, testing, and supporting applications within a PeopleSoft environment. 

• Strong experience building and managing API Policies, Governance Frameworks, and SLA Contracts.

• Mandatory experience of working in a global organization with major SaaS and On-prem platforms like Salesforce, Workday, PeopleSoft, OnBase, DocuSign, MySQL & SQL Server, AWS S3, Azure Blob, JMS / Azure Service Bus

• Proven background in security: OAuth2.0, SAML, mutual TLS, and token enforcement.

$157,000.00 - $172,000.00
