Location: Hybrid (Onsite presence required at least once a week in Adelphi, MD)

Summary: 

The Scrum Master, Agile Delivery is a servant leader and facilitator responsible for supporting one or more Agile or Kanban teams delivering highquality products and solutions across multiple organizational contexts. This role operates at the intersection of enterprise program delivery and technology enablement, ensuring Agile principles and practices are consistently applied while aligning team execution with both business outcomes and technical standards. The Scrum Master monitors and facilitates Agile and Kanban processes, ceremonies, and collaboration, and ensures adherence to organizational Agile practices and the Definition of Done (DoD). 

Working in close partnership with Product Owners, delivery leaders, technical stakeholders, and peer Scrum Masters, the Scrum Master promotes transparency, removes impediments, and drives measurable improvements in team performance. Through coaching, datadriven metrics, and continuous improvement practices, the Scrum Master helps teams mature in Agile adoption, fosters a culture of accountability and learning, and advocates for sustainable delivery, quality, and timeliness across departmental boundaries. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lead, facilitate, and participate in Scrum and Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, system demos, and Program Increment (PI) Planning  

  • Support teams during PI Planning by preparing and validating capacity and velocity data, identifying and managing dependencies, facilitating breakout sessions, and ensuring clarity around team commitments, objectives, and delivery risks  

  • Partner with Product Owners to support effective backlog refinement and prioritization of work based on business value, team capacity, and program objectives  

  • Collaborate closely with other Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers (RTEs), and the Agile Program Management Office (APMO) to strengthen programlevel planning, execution, and governance practices  

  • Collect, analyze, and share team and program metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown, flow, predictability), recommend improvements, and drive datainformed decisionmaking  

  • Actively identify, escalate, and help remove teamlevel, programlevel, and organizational impediments and dependencies  

  • Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile principles, practices, and behaviors to improve delivery effectiveness and maturity  

  • Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, inspectandadapt activities, and crossteam learning  

  • Support alignment across teams by fostering transparency, coordination, and collaboration within and across delivery groups 

Skills

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)   

  • Experience facilitating collaboration between business and technical stakeholders to support the articulation of functional and non‑functional requirements 

  • Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills

Education & Experience Requirements

Experience:  

  • 5-10+ years of relevant professional experience   

  • 3+ years of experience acting as an Agilest/Scrum Master with Agile teams/implementing agile principles  

  • 1+ years of experience utilizing agile PM tools (JIRA, Azure Dev Ops, Confluence, Rational, etc.) 

  • Familiarity with common collaboration and productivity tools, including Microsoft 365 (e.g., Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), to support communication, reporting, and coordination 

Certifications:  

  • One or more relevant Agile certifications (e.g. CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP) 

Preferred Experience Requirements

Education:  

Bachelor's Degree 

Experience:  

  • 1+ years of experience with additional Agile frameworks (Kanban, SAFe)  

  • Ability to create dashboards

Hiring Range:

$95,000.00 - $115,000.00
