Summary:

The Scrum Master - Learning Platforms is responsible for monitoring and facilitating scrum processes and scrum meetings and/or kanban processes and kanban meetings. They will work closely to increase team efficiency, provide and inspire motivation, coach and advocate for changes that will ensure quality and timeliness, as well as ensure the Definition of Done (DOD) is being followed while adhering to the UMGC agile practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead/facilitate/participate in regular stand ups as well as other agile ceremonies (retrospectives, sprint reviews, PI Planning, demos, etc)

  • Lead/facilitate/participate in Agile development sprint planning meetings for multiple projects

  • Work with Product Owners to inform prioritization of feature development, based on business value

  • Assist with creating team performance reports (i.e. Burn down, Velocity, Control Charts)

  • Understand the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Collect and share team metrics with the team, suggest new metrics, and drive improvement using metrics

  • Challenge, coach, and guide the organization using Agile principles

  • Work with team to remove impediments and address blockers

  • Enable continuous improvement

Skills:

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile) 

  • Experience with translating business requirements into system functional and non-functional requirements

  • Excellent troubleshooting and resolution skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in team environments across a diverse set of projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Proactive approach to problem solving

Education & Experience Requirements:

Experience:

  • 5-10+ years of relevant professional experience 

  • 3+ years of experience acting as an Agilest/Scrum Master with Agile teams/implementing agile principles

  • 1+ years of experience utilizing agile PM tools (JIRA, Azure Dev Ops, Confluence, Rational, etc.)

Certifications:

  • One or more relevant Agile certifications (e.g. CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP)

Preferred Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience with additional Agile frameworks (Kanban, SAFe)

  • Proficient in software development for both web and client/server environments in programming languages such as C #, Java, JSON, PSQL, XML

  • Proficient in Rest APIs

  • MuleSoft Experience a Plus

  • Possesses knowledge of mathematical analysis and how it impacts software applications

  • Ability to create dashboards

Hiring Range:

$101,100.00 - $133,300.00
