Senior Acquisition Marketing Specialist

Full-Time, Regular, Exempt, Pay Grade 1.4

Location: Stateside Remote

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks a Senior Acquisition Marketing Specialist. The Senior Acquisition Marketing Specialist plays a crucial role specializing in nurturing prospective students through email and SMS messaging to boost enrollment. This position entails developing, delivering, and analyzing key KPIs for these communications while adhering to internal governance guidelines. There is an potential for expansion into additional channels.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Build, test, and execute effective email and SMS campaigns to nurture leads, drive engagement, and achieve business objectives. This includes email setup, content creation, list segmentation, A/B testing, personalization, deployment, reporting, and postmortem analysis with recommendations for key lessons learned and optimization.
  • Validate data within Salesforce Marketing Cloud journeys and SMS sends to ensure the intended message reaches the targeted audience.
  • Actively engage in requirements gathering sessions, perform testing, personalization, A/B testing, and validation activities. Evaluate and identify areas of overlap to avoid redundant outreach to leads and contacts.
  • Manage and uphold best-in-class standards for email and SMS campaigns across the marketing calendar, ensuring compliance with CAN SPAM and TCPA.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, journeys, data integrations, triggers, communication types, content, and other relevant information.
  • Analyze data to optimize and maximize ROI. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive email marketing experience, including minimum of 1 year of Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience.
  • Experience working with Salesforce CRM for reporting.
  • Experience working with Salesforce and Five9 is advantageous.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to craft and edit enticing content.
    • Proficiency in email marketing and marketing automation technology.
    • Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through A/B testing and email optimization.
    • Demonstrated understanding of email marketing concepts and metrics such as Sender Score, deliverability, and sender reputation.
    • Experience with email marketing, lead nurturing, marketing automation, and analytics.
    • Knowledge of current trends and the interest to continuously learn and grow.
    • Ability to segment email lists and personalize email campaigns based on customer behavior, Ability to run regular A/B tests to refine and optimize campaigns

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning with a concentration in marketing, business administration, English or communications.
    • Progressive recent Salesforce Marketing Cloud Experience of 2+ years.
    • Ability to create reports, look up lead and contact records for data values in SalesForce CRM.
    • Familiarity with MS Products and SharePoint.
    • Familiarity with Tableau and pivot tables.
    • Proficient at pulling/analyzing metrics and creating Data Extensions in SalesForce Marketing Cloud.
    • Possess an innate interest in creating strong A/B tests hypotheses based on key learnings from prior campaigns and industry best practices which align with the goals of the university and the team.
    • Innate interest in solving the unknowns through research and by leveraging the tools that the university provides to improve work product.
    • Strong copywriting skills that address the pain points of the target audience.
    • Strong QA proofreading skills.
