The Director, Curriculum Systems is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of core systems related to curriculum design and delivery. This individual plays a key role in coordinating and managing product requirements, priorities, configurations, and release schedules, and works with key stakeholders to monitor integrations and other system dependencies. An experienced curriculum systems leader, this individual ensures that core curriculum-related systems (e.g., LMS, curriculum and catalog management systems, syllabus software, Ed Tech apps integrated into the LMS, custom software in support of core curriculum systems and processes, etc.) are well designed and aligned to university needs.

The Director is responsible for overseeing the full product lifecycle - managing product release schedules, managing requirements with vendors and partner groups, and interfacing with product and portfolio teams to ensure that product requirements are met on time and on budget. In addition, the Director identifies and assesses cross-workstream impacts and provides guidance to Team Leads on how to apply broader business objectives to product design and delivery decisions. In addition, this individual plays a key role in managing partner and vendor relationships and maintaining product dashboards to ensure tight alignment to partner priorities, budgets, and agreed deliverables.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Curriculum Systems team to ensure that university clients fully leverage curriculum systems and technology platform applications - with a focus on continual improvement, enhancement, innovation, and overall end-user experience
  • Oversee all curriculum systems initiatives from inception to deployment, developing the scope, resources, KPIs, milestones, and tracking required to ensure seamless execution
  • Serve as the key point of contact for the university's LMS, content management, and curriculum & catalog management systems, understanding system functionality and configurations
  • Lead a cross-functional team across its Agile ceremonies and processes
  • Make recommendations on products and enhancements that benefit the overall learning experience
  • Responsible for monitoring support and enhancement requests related to curriculum systems, ensuring that the appropriate workflows are in place to efficiently prioritize and process updates
  • Serve as a resource in troubleshooting and problem-solving university client system issues, providing regular reports and updates as needed
  • Establish regular reporting and metrics to monitor team progress toward goals and identify gaps
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with functional leaders and product owners to ensure alignment of efforts with business needs
  • Evaluate and sign-off of end-user requirements; develop documentation for production application processes
  • Partner with client business units and internal business leaders to understand the needs of the business and work to ensure the solutions are properly aligned to meet business priorities
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions
  • Prepare and present project proposals to leadership and business partner departments
  • Perform related work as required

  • Proven track record in envisioning product strategies, formulating strategic roadmaps, and orchestrating multifaceted projects, budgets, and timelines

  • 7+ years of experience working in curriculum systems and learning technology, ideally in a scaled online university, systems integration/consulting or ed tech environment
  • Experience working and leading in an Agile environment
  • Experience working the full technology project life cycle from inception through testing and post implementation support
  • Experience leading direct and matrixed teams

Hiring Range:

$151,000.00 - $161,000.00
