Summary:

The Workday Technical Program Manager, is responsible for the execution activities surrounding Workday Financial, HCM, Budgeting and Forecasting Systems. They are responsible for aligning technology and business team's strategies, systems analysis, requirements definition, systems integration, testing, and support of Workday in alignment with key business objectives. They are responsible for design, planning, execution and delivery of functional Workday Financial Management & HCM solutions and enhancements (Customizations, Workflows, Process Improvement, Business Analysis, Stakeholder Engagement). They also oversee the technology operations, including the day-to-day execution of Workday support requests and incidents. They are responsible for maintaining cross-functional engagement within the Finance, HR, Payroll, and Budgeting/Forecasting functions as well as the Technology Integration and Data Services teams. This role requires a strong blend of deep technical expertise in Workday, systems integration and data, combined with people management responsibilities. Prior supervisory experience is required to manage a diverse team of talent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor a team of developers and analysts through Workday enhancements and production support responsibilities. 

  • Build technical specifications, field mappings, and process designs to support workflows, integrations, and business process life-cycle. 

  • Lead integration requirements with cross-functional teams; ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications 

  • Workday Administration and Maintenance. 

  • Create and maintain related technical documentation and business process mapping. 

  • Assist in defining, developing and aligning the technology department's strategic roadmap with the Accounting and Finance and HR business group's development strategy. 

  • Assist in the definition, development, integration and documentation of system business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and the business teams. 

  • Interface with users and domain experts, ensure that reporting development goals are captured in deliverables and that milestones are met, assist with resolution of production issues on an as needed basis. 

  • Delivering functional Workday solutions (Customizations, Workflows, Process Improvement, Business Analysis, Stakeholder Engagement). 

  • Cross-functional engagement within the Finance, HR and Payroll functions as well as Integration and Data Services teams. 

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) and high internal customer satisfaction levels are being met. 

  • Manage the timely resolution of customer issues including handling customer escalations, perform and document Root Cause Analysis and implement remedial procedures to close identified gaps.

  • Work with the Help Desk, Operations Management and the Production Support Team as needed.

  • Troubleshoot functional issues in a complex financial environment, with various applications and architecture. 

  • Cross-train with other team members in order to facilitate coverage on projects and to ensure that expertise is shared. 

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Advocates for and build a collaborative continuous service improvement culture.

  • Assesses program performance, constructs analytical models, prepares well-reasoned analyses, and evaluates business proposals, systems, and vendors.

  • Builds strong partnerships with business leaders to learn what is working and what is not.

  • Cultivates customer success by educating stakeholders in making informed and effective business decisions.

  • Maintains the IT Operations roadmap, prepares presentations, and responds to executive inquiries.

  • Serves as a member of the Faculty Experience Digital Platform Team

Operational Management

  • Creates operational structure for planning, executing, reporting, monitoring and communicating regarding operational projects.

  • Facilitate weekly ticket reviews, and manage resolutions

  • Monitors program performance and effectiveness, ensures the program adapts as needed.

  • Works closely with the other Digital Platform Teams.

Employee Supervision

  • Identifies key attributes and technical skills needed to recruit and/or promote qualified individuals.

  • Coaches program team employees and sets specific, measurable goals to assist with the employee's personal growth and professional development.

  • Addresses and/or works with leadership to address any incidents or issues involving the IT infrastructure project teams.

  • Raises any concerns/risks regarding the program teams' work capacity to senior management.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Experience:

  • 8+ years of Workday experience, in particular working in support of the Accounting & Finance and HR areas. 

  • 5+ years of Workday Security and Integrations configuration experience, including data domains, security groups, security roles (i.e. role based, user based, segmented and intersecting security roles), and security role migrations. 

  • 5+ years of experience managing Agile software development teams including software developers, systems analysts, project managers, and other technical roles. 

  • Strong experience with continuous improvement initiatives, architecting complex solutions, and leading production support function in tandem.

  • Experience with programs, high-impact/large projects, and/or cross-team management.

  • Understanding of the organization's core software applications.

  • Understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.

  • Understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.

  • Understanding of MuleSoft Integration Tool

Certifications:

  • Partner certification in Workday (Active, or Expired).

Hiring Range:

$170,000.00 - $180,100.00
