Job Location: Dorsey Academic Center in Elkridge, MD

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is seeking a Veterans Lounge Student Worker. The Veterans Initiatives Office is seeking to hire a Veteran Student Worker to support in-person and virtually, the Hildebrand Veterans Lounge at the Dorsey Academic Center in Elkridge, MD and veterans in the DC/MD/VA area. The position is part-time, not to exceed 19 hours per week and pays $15 per hour. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

• Serve as a receptionist for the Hildebrand Student Veterans Lounge located at the Dorsey Station regional location and travel to support veteran lounges in DC/MD/VA area 

• Virtually host Virtual Student Lounge in addition to Workshop Wednesday series via Zoom 

• Participate in events hosted by Veterans Initiatives Office 

• Advise students of the available programs and resources  

• Provide assistance with general inquiries regarding veterans benefits 

• Process SALUTE Honor Society applications 

• Serve on the Board of the UMGC Chapter of Student Veterans of America 

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

• Eligible students must be currently pursuing education at UMGC and qualify as training ¾ time or greater

• Must have served in the United States Military and/or are using Veterans Benefits OR be the spouse of an active duty or veteran servicemember
