Contingent II, Exempt, 100% Full Time, Pay Grade 1.2

Location: Maryland, Virginia, D.C.

University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks a Military Program Coordinator with Stateside Military Operations. The Military Program Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Military Portals, Programs, and Partnerships, will work within a team and is responsible for a number of processes and tasks that all must be done on a daily basis in an extremely accurate manner on a very tight deadline.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Military Portal Management within the Academic Institution Module and the Academic Institution Portals.
  • Responsible for answering the CRM cases from military students.  Cases can span a myriad of issues.  The Coordinator is responsible for taking case to completion, which requires a number of steps and outreach.    
  • Reporting grades to the military portals.  This will also include late grades, changing grades, and incomplete grades.
  • Reporting Degree Completions to the military portals.
  • Responsible for processing Relocations submitted by students transferring from one UMGC division to the next. This involves researching students' Peoplesoft records and determining if a manual tuition adjustment should be requested from Student Accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in student advising, student support, program management, or any combination of the three.
  • Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail, be self-motivated, and a multi-tasker who can get the job done with little supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications is also required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior working experience with military students.
  • Knowledge of a student CRM system such as Salesforce.

  • Retirement Stipend:  Contingent II employees receive a retirement stipend equal to 7.25 percent of their base salary and are eligible to contribute to a supplemental retirement account (SRA).

  • Supplemental Retirement Plans: include 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), and various Roth options. The university does not provide subsidies or matching funds.

  • Tuition Remission:  CII employees are eligible immediately for Tuition Remission at UMGC or at University of Maryland College Park.  Spouses and dependent children are eligible for undergraduate tuition remission after two years of service. NOTE: For part-time employees (at least 50 percent of the time), tuition remission benefits are prorated.
