Team Lead Facilitator

Faculty Performance and Evaluation

Exempt, Regular, Full-time, Pay Grade 2.2

Location: Adelphi, MD (Hybrid)

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-driven Team Lead Facilitator to join UMGC. The Team Lead Facilitator will report to the Manager of Performance & Evaluation within the Faculty Affairs & Scheduling Team (FAST) to provide support for teaching effectiveness and student learning through their work with team leads. Team leads serve as peer reviewers who mentor and evaluate faculty to provide the best experience for their students. The Team Lead Facilitator will partner across Academic Affairs and FAST to provide training, support, and communications for the team leads. This includes team lead training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.

This individual will play a key role in overseeing and supporting the performance management and coaching of faculty teaching online courses. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of team leads, working closely to ensure the highest quality teaching and learning experiences. This role is integral to the development of faculty excellence and student success in the online classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

Faculty Performance Management:

  • Monitor, assess, and provide feedback on the performance data of faculty members.

  • Coordinate and implement performance evaluation systems and processes in alignment with institutional goals.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing constructive feedback to team leads.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead and manage a team of team leads who support faculty development and performance improvement.

  • Ensure alignment of team goals with institutional priorities and educational objectives.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the faculty community.

  • Provide regular guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for the facilitator team.

  • Collaborate with academic departments, Faculty Learning & Professional Development, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of best practices in course delivery.

  • Share insights from faculty performance coaching to inform faculty talent development strategy, including succession planning, advancement readiness, and tailored training investments.

Faculty Support & Engagement:

  • To build and maintain strong relationships with faculty, ensuring they feel supported and valued.

  • Collect feedback & data from team leads to inform decisions on improving teaching practices and course delivery.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • To prepare regular reports on faculty performance, development initiatives, and the outcomes of coaching and training programs.

  • Analyze trends in faculty performance data to identify systemic issues and implement targeted interventions.

  • Use data to track progress and measure the effectiveness of coaching and development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, with at least 2 years in a role focused on faculty development, faculty support, or performance management

  • Proven experience in coaching or mentoring, particularly in an online learning environment.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of online teaching platforms, tools, and technologies (e.g., LMS, Zoom, etc.).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback in a clear, professional, and empathetic manner.

  • Strong leadership, team management, and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret performance data and use it to drive improvements.

  • Deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in online teaching and learning.

Hiring Range:

$77,000.00 - $87,000.00
